A measure of digital storage. A byte represents an 8-bit group. Digital storage is commonly measured in kilobytes (Kb), with each kilobyte equal to 1024 bytes. Thus, a computer whose memory is said to be 256 Kb actually contains (256*1024) 262,144 bytes.
